What may not be Sexual Harassment

Below are some examples of what may not be sexual harassment at workplace (if there is no history, background or context of sexual harassment/behaviour):

  • Any behaviour that is welcome and there is consent e.g.: Relationships or going on dates outside of work
  • Workplace harassment, e.g.: giving back to back shifts, asking the person to do jobs which are unfit for his/her grade
  • Making racial and communal slurs and comments: e.g.: making comments like: you lower caste people have no class to work at such a big/modern company
  • Making comments in order to hurt religious sentiments: g.: People from your religion are good for nothing and a nuisance
  • Slapping, kicking or being physically violent or any sort of violence without any sexual connotation
